Maintenance and Care Instructions for XCMG XP305 Road Roller
Part 1
The long winter is coming to an end, and construction sites are about to resume operations. But before your rubber-tired roller shines, don’t forget to give it a proper maintenance check. This article will provide you with maintenance and care instructions for the XCMG XP305 roller.
Daily Maintenance (10 hours of work)
Adjust the scraper
Adjust the distance between the scraper and the tire to 2 to 3 mm.
Check the brake fluid level
Check that the brake fluid level in both booster pump reservoirs is between the high and low marks. If the level is below the low mark, add brake fluid immediately. Check the front and rear wheel brakes and brake lines for any brake fluid leaks.
Note: When adding or changing brake fluid, always use the recommended brand of the same type. To avoid brake system failure, never mix other fluids.

Check Engine Oil Level:
Before starting the engine each day, check the oil level with the dipstick. The oil level should be between the upper and lower marks on the dipstick. If the oil level is close to the lowest mark, add engine oil.

Check Hydraulic Fluid Level:
Check the hydraulic fluid level using the level gauge. The fluid level must be above the middle mark on the gauge. If the fluid level is too low, unscrew the hydraulic fluid filler cap and add hydraulic fluid.
Note: Different brands of hydraulic fluid must never be mixed.

Check Fuel Level:
Check the fuel level in the fuel tank using the fuel gauge and add fuel as needed.
Note: Before refueling, turn off the engine and hold the fuel nozzle close to the fuel filler neck to prevent sparks. Smoking and open flames are strictly prohibited. Use winter diesel fuel in winter to prevent thickening due to paraffin deposition.
Check Front and Rear Wheel Assembly:
Check the tire pressure and tread for damage. And the bearings and oil seals inside the tire housing for proper function.
Check the engine coolant level:
Check the coolant level through the engine coolant reservoir. If coolant is low, add coolant. Only use the same brand of coolant. After adding, tighten the filler cap.

Empty the dust collector from the air filter:
Simply squeeze the dust collector by hand; the lip will open to release dust.
Add water to the sprinkler tank as needed:
Check the water level display and add water to the tank as needed.
Open the sprinkler tank filler cap and check if a filter bag is inside the filler. When adding water should use a filter bag. After adding water, tighten the sprinkler tank filler cap.
Weekly Maintenance (50 working hours)
Inspect and clean the main air filter element:
When the engine is running at high speed, if the differential pressure alarm on the air filter shows red, it should clean the main air filter element. Replace the filter element after six cleanings. Loosen the retaining ring on the air filter cover, remove the air filter cover, and pull out the main filter element. Check if there is dust inside the main filter element. Find it and clean it. After inspection, clean the inner wall of the air filter housing, the inner wall of the air filter cover, and the swirl vanes with a clean cotton cloth. Reinstall the main filter element and swirl vanes, and replace the air filter cover. During the entire cleaning process, it should remove the safety filter.
Replace the main filter element after six cleanings; replace the safety filter element every three main filter element replacements.
Inspect and maintain the battery:
Open the battery service access door and inspect the outer surface of the battery for damage. Ensure there is no acid spillage, cracks, dents, or dirt. The battery status can be checked through the inspection window on top of the battery. The window displays: Green – Good condition; Black – Needs charging; White – Replace battery.

Lubricate the steering cylinder hinge points:
Turn the steering wheel left and right to expose the grease cups. Wipe the area around the grease cups clean. Using a grease gun, add approximately 5 strokes (or fill to the brim) of grease to each of the four grease cups in the steering cylinder. Leave a small amount of grease on the grease fittings to prevent dust from entering. If there is internal or external leakage in the steering cylinder, check and replace the cylinder seals.

Lubricate the slewing bearing, rocker arm, and front and rear wheel bearings:
Wipe the area around the grease cups clean. Using a grease gun, add approximately 5 strokes (or fill to the brim) of grease to each grease cup. Leave a small amount of grease on the grease fittings to prevent dust from entering.
Lubricate the chain:
Remove the chain guard; apply lubricant to the chain surface with a soft brush, and repeat the application by moving the roller back and forth.
Check tire pressure:
Use a tire pressure gauge to check the tire pressure. The normal operating range for tire pressure is 600–650 kPa, but it can be adjusted according to the construction process.
